Why Smoothies are Incredible

Balancing your life can be difficult at times, especially when I comes to eating healthy.  One of the quickest & healthiest ways to start your morning is to blend a smoothie.  Not only will you save time, but you will have the peace of mind of having one of the most important meals of the day, breakfast. Versatility of one my favorite reasons why I love smoothies.   Here is one of my favorite smoothies recipes, mainly due to it’s simplicity (lol):

Banana Cinnamon Shake
Prep: 5 minutes Makes: 2 servings
One serving equals:
245 calories, 9g fat, 0mg sodium, 31g carbohydrate, 5g fiber, and 5g protein

Here’s what you need:
2 bananas
2 Tablespoons raw almond butter
1 Tablespoon raw honey
1 teaspoon freshly ground cinnamon
1 cup ice
1/4 cup filtered water or your favorite milk product

 Throw everything into a high speed blender, blend until smooth and enjoy.

Deeper Look

This is one pricey blender I must say, but if you were spending 5 to 7 dollars a day buying smoothies it would pay for itself in about 3 months.  If you’re looking for healthier options due to eating fast food breakfast and lattes in the morning (10- 15 dollars), you get the point.  My motto with life in general is “Quality over Quantity”.  If you want to invest in your health look for the best products for the long term.  Think about it like cookware, or your Fridge, stove, Microwave etc…

  • This is a good look at the blantec designer series blenders. If you’re trying to stay healthy and also save a few bucks (in the long run) a blender id always a good investment to make. That cinnamon smoothie does look appetising though, I’ll have to make sure to try it when I get a chance to do so. I’m no blender expert but, by the looks of it this could be something worth looking into as an investment for a healthy lifestyle.

    I have been thinking about getting a smoothie maker for some time now and now that i am trying to loose weight this is ideal .
    The banana cinnamon shake looks good and good for me as its quick and easy:)
    I agree with you when you say quality over quantity especially if it is used alot.
    Can you have smoothies twice a day breakfast and lunch?.

    • I mostly have smoothies to make sure I maintain my calories per day for workout purposes.  If you have a busy schedule go for it.  If you have the time there is nothing like a full meal.
